For Appy Friday this week, we’re giving you a rundown of our top 5 soundbars. With the dark nights and upcoming party season just a few weeks away, a soundbar is a great addition to your TV or music set-up too. There is also a range of high-end and more affordable soundbars on this list as well.

Sonos Beam
Cost: £389
The Sonos Beam is a great soundbar. It’s compact, sleek and has Alexa support with Google Assistant and Siri coming soon. The Beam is 65cm wide so nice and portable compared to other soundbars. Another good thing about this device is that you can couple it with Sonos One speakers to create even more of a surround sound effect. This speaker also includes speech enhancement, so when you’re watching TV and movies it makes the dialogue easier to understand. As well as this, it has night mode options so you won’t wake anyone when you’re watching TV late at night.

Yamaha Yas-107
Cost: £219
Yamaha has a selection of soundbars on offer and this is one of their more affordable ones. This device is 89cm wide so it’s a bit larger than the Sonos Beam but has a nice simple design making it look sleek and minimalistic. It also has HDMI input and output which supports HDR. Unfortunately, this soundbar doesn’t connect with Yamaha’s MusicCast multi-room system which is a bit disappointing.

Q Acoustics M3
Cost: £298.99
The Q Acoustics M3 is very easy to set up and is so sleek it would fit under nearly any TV setup. This soundbar has Bluetooth and HDMI connectivity and the audio quality from this speaker is great especially for the price. Overall, considering the price and the quality of this product, it’s a great option.

Samsung HW-MS650
Cost: £429
The Samsung soundbar is very powerful and has great bass response. This soundbar is one of the widest on this list at 106cm wide and looks very sleek. It includes 9 speakers within in, and you can connect via WIFI or Bluetooth. It includes smart sound modes and even detects and then stops any distortion. The only downside is the hefty price tag but the sound quality makes this is one of the best soundbars out there.

Sonos Playbar
Cost: £699
The Sonos Playbar is the most expensive on his list however it does have a lot of great features. This soundbar is controlled via your smartphone or tablet through an app, making controlling the Playbar super easy. As expected from Sonos the Playbar has incredible sound quality whether you’re listening to music, watching TV or watching movies. The Playbar can also be integrated with the Sonos multi-room system.

So, that was this weeks Appy Friday. Hopefully, there is something on this list suitable for everyone’s needs and budget. Let us know if you already have one, or plan on buying any of these soundbars!
